Public directory configuration

Who can do this?
System Administrators only.

Control which Organisations appear on the public directory. Changes apply immediately.

Where do I manage it?

  • Organisations → Active
  • Controls are available in list (table) and grid views.

Default behaviour

  • Active organisations are Public by default.
  • Inactive / Awaiting approval / Declined organisations are always Private and cannot be made public.
  • When an organisation changes from Active → Inactive, its visibility is automatically set to Private.
  • If it later returns to Active, it retains the last chosen Public/Private state you set when it was Active.
  • Changes apply immediately to the public directory.

Make an organisation Public or Private

From list or grid view

  1. Open the vertical ellipsis (⋮) on the organisation row/card.
  2. Choose Make Public or Make Private.

From the organisation profile

  1. Open the vertical ellipsis (⋮) at the top of the profile.
  2. Choose Make Public or Make Private.

System feedback

  • Success:Organisation visibility updated.
  • Error:Error updating visibility.” (Try again; contact support if it persists.)

Find and review organisations

  • Created date column (table view): shows when the organisation was added.
  • Click the Created date header to sort (newest ↔ oldest).

Filter by Public/Private

  • Click Filters and use Public directory:
All (default) / Public / Private
  • The Public directory filter applies only on the Active tab.

What admins cannot do

  • You cannot change visibility for Inactive, Awaiting approval, or Declined organisations (controls are hidden/disabled).
  • The Inactive tab shows an info icon:
Inactive organisations are excluded from the public directory by default.

Notes & tips

  • If an organisation doesn’t appear publicly, check:
    • It’s Active.
    • It’s set to Public.
  • Keep profile data complete and accurate (name, summary, contact details, website, social links, service offer, criteria). This is what users see publicly.
  • Use Filters + Created date sort to periodically review newly added organisations before exposing them publicly.
