Using the referral list

The Referral List allows users to locate referrals their organisation has handled in the past, meaning any referrals they have sent or received on behalf of a client.

The list provides a preview of key details, including the sending and receiving organisations, the client’s name and date of birth, the referral creation date, the current status, the type of issue, and the referral ID, which helps users identify the referral before viewing more details.

The list also indicates if a referral is urgent and requires priority action, if it is overdue and has not been addressed within the expected timeframe, or if the consent to view the referral has expired, which may restrict access.

Searching referrals

Users can search for referrals either as the sending organisation or the recipient. To do so, they must first select the appropriate list from the menu.

Referrals can be located by searching for the client’s name or email address.

If a user is unsure whether their organisation was the sender or recipient of a referral, they should try searching within the client list instead.

Referral Status Icons

  • 🕓 Clock Icon – Indicates the referral is overdue.
  • ⚠️ Exclamation Icon – Marks the referral as urgent, requiring an accelerated response from the receiving organisation.
  • 📄❌ File Icon with a Cross – Indicates that consent has expired.

The user can also filter the list to specifically view overdue, urgent, or consent expired referrals by selecting the relevant tab. This allows for quick identification and prioritisation of referrals that require immediate attention.

Filtering clients

In addition to searching, users can filter the referral list to help locate a specific referral. Available filters include referral ID, client age, timeframe, sending organisation, receiving organisation, created by (user), closure reason, type of issue, current status, state (open or closed), urgency and whether or not the referral is overdue.

After selecting the desired filters, users should click “Apply” to update the results. To remove all filters, they can click “Clear”.
